Now, does this theme have anything to do with our lives as teenagers? I don't know, unless we all turn into mindless zombies as the othe characters do in the book... But in truth, I think that the war may happen (Small chance though.) to our world, but burning down the books and houses, I don't think that there will be much of a possibility. I mean, because if we don't have books, we won't be able to learn in school, which will probably lead to strikes, then chaos everywhere. And other scholars won't like it either. When a war does happen like the book, I think they would just leave the books, why burn them and lose more power, more soldiers? Children might like it, no studying, no head hurting things that happen. They would be able to play all day. But I thought that firemen ending up to burn books was a bit unrealistic. But those are my thoughts anyway, I'm pretty sure you have others...

why do we have to turn into mindless zombies to understand the book? Does the book have a conection with what you have said?

I do agree that burning book was a bit unrealistic too but it might possibly happen. This main idea was about censorship (I didn’t think you answer what is the main theme). In this novel, the governments banned books because they not only contained knowledge but are complex and difficult.

I thought this theme had to do with our lives as teenager, because teenagers are the source of the future. In current situations, I think the majority of teenagers would read books because it is for an assignment or their parents/teachers forced them to. It is important to us if we do not read books we would face many conflicts like Mildred who wanted to commited suicide. Yes, books can be dangerous because of great knowledge, but the benefits are that books encourage you not to make mistakes and improve your views and opinions.

You said why they don’t just leave books instead of burning them. I think the main reasons they want to burn books as I mentioned above is that the governments want to censor books that they consider as a dangerous weapon. Books are complex and difficult to find out the real and deeper meaning. So people in this novel like Mildred do not think but watch TV. In this novel, fire is used to burn books rather than to warm your body. I think that is the main reason why the government wanted to burn books.

I hope my comments helped you afterwards. Good job and see you in Bio!
